“Ma. Ma?” the boss walks around the house, searching every nook and cranny for his small mother. Opening one door after another, closing it gently behind him as his eyes swept the room to find no sign of the violet colored Vastaya. “Ma??” He yells, this time standing in the middle of what would be the homes living room.
Unlike many houses, Setts own family home was out in the middle of the country. His mother, stayed there to work on her garden and watch the river as fish populated it during spawning season. It was a life that he wanted to give her, somewhere peaceful and away from the crowd. The house itself was made of living wood, it was open to the elements and welcomed just about any plant that his mother could shove into a pot. If anything it looked like Setts mother had encased herself in a greenhouse with how many plants and flowers she had grew.
A shuffle from behind, Setts ears swiveled on top of his head, then his whole body followed. His eyes locking with the vastayan woman who was definitely his mother, carrying a large pot with her own tiny hands. He scrambled over to her, snatching the heavy pot with a flowering tree in it. “Ma! You can’t be lifting heavy things alone!” He said, raising his voice slightly at her. To which the woman waved her hand dismissively. Laughing to her much large son who had seized the plant from her grasp. “Đừng lo về nó! Sett, you worry too much. I am fine.” she says with a smile. Clearly she knew she had been caught, but she did her best to act playful about it before he son gave her an earful. Which he most certainly did. “Wh- Don’t worry about it??? Ma, you can’t be lifting these heavy things, remember the doctor said you can hurt your back more if you do.” He retorts, tucking the potted plant into his body with one arm. “You been taking your medication.” he says, suspiciously, at the small ionian woman. “Yes, yes, I’ve been taking my medication. My back feels much better!” she says with a smile. Clearly she hasn’t with how quick that left her mouth. Another conversation for them to talk over. “Come come, inside. Put the plant down, I have food waiting for you. Cho tôi biết về ngày của bạn.” she says, waving her hand for him to follow. Not allowing Sett to scold her for her negligence on her health. “I just picked some vegetables, they are good, very good. The rain made them grow so big, we have to eat them now before they are too old.”
